At the confluence of the Grande Ronde and Wenaha rivers lies the small community of Troy, located approximately 37 miles north of Enterprise, OR and 38 miles southwest of Lewiston, ID. The roots of Troy trace back to the homesteaders of the late 1800's and early 1900's. Before the settlers arrived, the Grande Ronde and Wenaha river canyons were fished and hunted by the Nez Perce for time immemorial. The deep river canyons and sprawling benches have been drawing people to the area for centuries to take advantage of the excellent hunting and fishing opportunities in this remote and beautiful area of northeast Oregon.
The Troy Wilderness Lodge properties consist of:
Fishing on both rivers draw anglers from all over for the opportunity to escape into the wilderness with little or no cell phone service. Anglers catch trout, salmon, steelhead, and more while using a variety of techniques. Multi-day rafting trips from the Minam bridge downriver to Troy are popular in the late spring and early summer. The fall steelhead run is a favorite for anglers and a restored salmon run is beginning to pay dividends as well.
Troy sits on the border of the Wenaha and Sled Springs hunting units which are both well known for producing trophy class bulls and bucks. Big game hunting seasons include deer, elk, bear, Rocky Mountain Goat, and Bighorn Sheep. It is common for hunters and guides to stay in Troy while scouting and hunting the surrounding areas.
The Troy Wilderness Lodge is an ideal opportunity for the discerning buyer to establish a multitude of business opportunities. All strategically located in the gorgeous Grande Ronde River Canyon.
