Throughout this rugged, steep Wilderness, the Sturgeon and Little Silver Rivers and their tributaries have carved falls, rapids, ponds, oxbows, and terraces. - After leaving the National Forest it flows northward, again crossing and re-crossing the Baraga-Houghton County line and running generally parallel to the western shore of Keweenaw Bay.
