Additionally, Great Falls is located approximately 75 miles to the northwest and all cities have full services and medical facilities. The Bugling Bull Ranch represents the natural, rural and open space character of the Upper Blackfoot Valley, which sits at the southern edge of the Bob Marshall and Scapegoat Wilderness. Don't let the name fool you. Along with phenomenal elk that roam throughout the property there is also trophy class Whitetail and Mule Deer that are year-round residents. One side the property borders State of Montana lands administered by the Department of Natural Resources and Conservation which provide access to Forest Service lands for well over one million acres of additional year-round recreational opportunities.Recreation/HabitatQuality elk habitats have many common denominators. This ranch provides the ideal environment for 'elk country' with rugged terrain and plentiful protection. Providing that the basic requirements of food and water are present, elk will flourish. The vastness, solitude, and large chunks of escape that cover the vital habitat are intricately woven together on this property. Rocky Mountain Elk dwell in various habitats and the ample Quaking Aspen Groves provide the perfect cover. A creator other than man has made it, and only man can preserve it. The implementation of stewardship through the conservation easement along with continued proper management has made this elk Mecca a chance of a lifetime purchase. The Bob Marshall Wilderness Complex located in Northwestern Montana on both sides of the Continental Divide, includes three Wilderness areas: The Great Bear, the Scapegoat, and the Bob Marshall Wilderness. Together the Bob Marshall Wilderness Complex makes up an area of more than 1.5 million acres, the third largest in the lower 48 states. Grizzly Bear, lynx. wolverine, deer, elk, gray wolf, moose, Black Bear, Mountain Lion, Mountain Goat, and Mountain Sheep roam about these rugged ridge tops, gently sloping alpine meadows, thickly forested river bottoms and open grass parks. The Bob Marshall is classic horse country because of its vastness, relatively gently terrain, and wide midelevation river valleys with abundant forage for grazing. It is probably one of the few Wildernesses where horse users still outnumber hikers and backpackers. You'll find more than 1,000 miles of a well-developed trail systems, with maintained paths giving way to less well managed trails as you travel deeper into Montana's largest Wilderness. The Continental Divide bisects this region, making it an outdoorsman's dream. On the east slope lies Sun River Canyon and on the west, the beautiful Blackfoot Valley. Halfway between Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks, Lincoln is bordered by the magnificent Bob Marshall and Scapegoat Wilderness areas to the north and the renowned Blackfoot River to the South. You will find spectacular fishing in the Blackfoot River, alpine lakes and the many mountain drainages surrounding Lincoln, Your fishing skills can be tested on streams that are home to rainbow, cutthroat, and brown trout. Or you may prefer to hike, backpack, or mountain bike through acres of beautiful country. Snowmobiling dominates the scene when the snow begins to fall. More than 250 miles of groomed trails and limitless play areas make Lincoln a snowmobiler's dreamland. If you prefer the solitude of winter entertainment, the Blackfoot Valley provides cross-country ski trails and miles of skiing in the backcountry.WaterYear-round springs, several wetlands and approximately 1/2 mile of Hardscrabble Creek, which is a small tributary to the Blackfoot River. Conservation EasementExecuted to Five Valley's Land Trust in August of 2009 to identify, preserve, and protect in perpetuity the significant conservation values found within the property.
