New York wooded land with trails, timber and stream and minutes from Salmon River for sale. The property is almost entirely forested in mixed cover types in varying stages of growth. A portion of the woods had a timber salvage operation a number of years ago to remove trees that were defoliated and dying from an infestation by forest tent caterpillars. This salvage occurred on the west portion in sporadic areas, so this area has a younger forest component than the eastern portion. The limited stocking on the west side has created a flush of growth and great habitat for deer, bear, grouse and turkey. A timber inventory on the property shows that there is still as much as 1,988,067 boardfeet of timber, International 1/4 " Log Rule, on the property which will create an income stream in the future if so desired. The property also has ownership along a portion of Beaverdam Brook. It is likely that brook trout are found here, though there is no specific data available. Beaverdam Brook flows from here to the famed Salmon River in a short distance. Atlantic Salmon have been stocked in this stream near the confluence with the Salmon River, so there just may be at least some brookies or browns at this end of the stream. If not, it is a nice stream where the kids can play and find salamanders and crayfish under the rocks.Besides the opportunity to hunt, hike and camp, the property is within 5 miles by car of the Salmon River and both the upper and lower Salmon River Reservoirs. World class fishing for salmon, steehead, rainbow trout, brown trout and Atlantic salmon are found here. In addition, the area snowmobile trail system is within a 5 mile drive of the property. Abundant State Land is available too and I 81 is within about 15 miles making this an easy drive-to destination! The property has good, drivable gravel right of way access from Beach Road and has no electric available.
