CREEK COUNTRY REAL ESTATE is dedicated to our primary markets which includes six counties. Here are a few fact about each one, and some of the towns and cities that are most known of in each county. Our focus to rural properties that are located in the less populated sections of the counties, where the land is still abundant, natural land features are still found, and housing, farms, and forested mountains still abound.
HANCOCK COUNTY, where our office is, borders on Virgina to the north and is in the center among these six counties which fully surround us. Hancock County was founded in 1844 and has a population of approximately 6,787 covering 222 square miles. It is home to Sneedville, the County Seat, Kyles Ford, and large sections of Thorn Hill and Treadway .
HAWKINS COUNTY to our east was founded in 1786. It is home to Rogersville, the county seat, Other notable towns Hawkins Co are: Eidson, Mooresburg, Surgoinsville, Church Hill, and Bulls Gap. Hawkins County has a population of approximately 57,288 and an area of 487 square miles.
HAMBLEN COUNTY to our south was founded in 1870. The city of Morristown is the county seat. Other notable towns of Hamblen Co are: Russellville, Lowland, Talbott, Whitesburg and Whitt. Hamblen County has a population of approximately 64,468 and an area of 161 square miles
GRAINGER COUNTY, also to our south was founded in 1796. The city of Rutledge is the County seat. Other notable towns of Grainger Co are: Bean Station, Thorn Hill, Treadway, Washburn, Powder Springs, Tate Springs, and Blaine. Grainger Co has a population of approximately 23,763 and an area of 280 square miles.
CLAIBORNE COUNTY, to our west was founded in 1801. Tazewell is the County seat. Other notable towns of Claiborne Co are: New Tazewell, Harogate, Cumberland Gap, Lone Mountain, Speedwell, Arthur, Clairfield, Eagan and Pruden. Claiborne Co has a population of approximately 32,267 and an area of 434 square miles
All of these counties contain additional, remote, little towns and named areas which are too many to mention.
