Description

This is an exceptional, all season, recreational property, with 200’ frontage on Voorhees Road, a paved year ‘round Town road as shown on the survey map included with this listing.  Access to the property is via a gravel woods road.  A survey of the property was conducted and filed in the Oswego County Clerk’s Office on July 27, 1993.  The survey included the placement of corner markers, plus painting and blazing boundary lines, most of which are still visible at this time.

Electric and communication utilities are available roadside.  A copy of the deed and survey is included with this listing.  All rights transfer to the new owner.

I would describe the lay of the land as rolling.  It is totally wooded, with young, middle-aged and mature forest vegetation.  The predominant native tree species in the lowlands, where you’ll find a seasonal creek, include; eastern hemlock, red maple and yellow birch, while sugar maple, black cherry, white ash, American basswood and American beech dominate the upland portions of the property.  Tree harvesting has been limited to the removal of dead, dying, damaged, diseased, and poorly formed trees by the owner for personal use as firewood.  The tractor trails developed to remove the firewood may now double for recreational use including: hiking, x-country skiing, snow-shoeing, bird watching, hunting and ATV riding.

Snowmobilers will find Main Corridor trail C5, approximately one-half mile north of the property crossing CR 11.  ATV trail access, just minutes to the north of this location, connects to miles and miles of trails on the Tug Hill Plateau!

This area attracts a variety of wildlife species.  Based on the abundance of food resources, water, cover, and physical evidence, game species that may frequent the property include: whitetail deer, black bear, snowshoe hare, ruffed grouse, turkey and woodcock.  Travel ~20 minutes north to fish the Salmon River, famous for its king and coho salmon, brown trout, steelhead, and rainbow trout, or ~30 minutes west to Lake Ontario for more of the same plus; walleye, bass, pike, and perch.

People from all over come to this region for its great outdoor attractions, rural atmosphere, and friendly, welcoming residents.  It may be a perfect location for those looking to spend recreational time off the beaten path in a remote, off grid, seasonal cabin, not to rule out a great site to build a year ‘round home!  Hospitals, grocery, hardware, and department stores are less than 30 minutes away in neighboring communities.  In addition, The Syracuse International Airport is found ~ 30 minutes south, off Interstate 81, just north of the city.
