Activities & Amenities
The Newnan Ranch is one of the last large parcels available in this section of southern Nevada County. The ranch has large oak studded meadows with seasonal creeks as well as hilltop views. Currently used for cattle grazing there is a set of corrals by the historic barn.
- There is plenty of history on the Newnan Ranch which has been in the same family since 1942. Taylor Crossing Road borders the south side of the property. At one time Ben Taylor, who operated the toll crossing on the Bear River, lived in the house on the ranch. Prior to that, the historic Emigrant Trail brought wagon trains through the ranch.
- Located about 10 minutes from either Highway 49 or to Grass Valley this property is private yet close to any amenities.
- There are 2 shallow wells on the property as well as seasonal creeks and undeveloped springs.
- Although the house on the property is not habitable, it is on county records making a remodel possible to avoid new construction permits.
