Property Description

The Gilbert family has been running cattle on this land since the 1940’s.  A beautiful location at the upper end of the Snake River Valley.  The primary ranch borders the city of Inkom boundaries and stretches to the north for about 2 ½ miles.  The irrigated crop land borders the Portneuf River for about 4,000 feet.  Majestic views of Mt. Bonneville and the surrounding mountain range will never grow weary.    

The original home built in 1910 can be the ranch headquarters or you or your ranch hand.  Behind this home is a series of corrals and round pens mingled with a shop, sheds, gain bins, and storage buildings.

Running with the land are several surface water rights with some dating back to 1885. 

Separated from the main ranch are several tax parcels of grazing land that border BLM land.  Gilbert Ranch currently hold a BLM lease for 178 AUMS and a USDA Forest Service lease for 369 head months.

Portions of this ranch could be developed or held for your livestock.  

The separated grazing areas are in Idaho Fish and Game hunting unit 71 where deer are plentiful and elk are common.

The ranch has almost immediate access off of the I15 southbound Inkom offramp and access off of Old Hwy 91.  The elevation at the main ranch is about 4,500 feet.  The ranch is just six miles from Pebble Creek Ski Resort. Salt Lake City is approximately 150 miles, Jackson Hole, Wyoming approximately 160 miles, Yellowstone National Park about 220 miles and Sun Valley is only about 175 miles. 

This area has lots of summer and winter recreational activities such as camping, hiking, motorcycle, ATV, and side-by-side riding, fishing, hunting, rodeos, shooting teams, downhill and cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, ice fishing, and back country skiing.  Also close is the Stephens Performing Arts Center and the Idaho State Civic Symphony.

Less than 15 miles away is the Portneuf Medical Center, Idaho State University and a variety of restaurants.  Less than 18 miles away is the Pineridge Mall, AMC movie theater, Home Depot, Lowes, WalMart, and more restaurants.
