Water:

One of the water focal points on the ranch is the 1.35 +/- miles of Palo Pinto Lake frontage. Inside the high-fenced area, amongst the spectacular topography and mountainous areas, there are seven (7) water stock tanks and a variety of seasonal creeks.

Wildlife:

The 900-acre high-fenced portion of the ranch sits to the north of the entertainment area. This area is home to elk, red deer (60-70), axis (60+), fallow deer, black buck (6+), oryx (10+), sika (8+), aoudad (15+), whitetail deer, turkey, and hogs. Additionally, dove and waterfowl can be found during their respective seasons. All animals, feeders, and blinds will convey with the sale. The seller has been approached to sell individual hunts and has also been asked to consider a hunting lease.

Fishing in Palo Pinto Lake and the stock tanks is rewarding. Largemouth Bass, Catfish, Crappie, White Bass, and Hybrid Striped Bass can be found swimming in the waters. The new owner can easily boat to the rocky points throughout the lake and have ample opportunities to catch a fish.

Terrain and Natural Features:

The total high-fenced portion of the ranch is about 1,000 acres. Within the high fenced area, there is about a 100-acre soft release pen; the Seller has these gates open, so the native and exotic animals are also using the natural habitat and cover it provides.

The highest elevation on the ranch is approximately 1,240 feet. The lowest elevation on the ranch is about 870 feet. The 370 feet of elevation change must be seen in person to appreciate it truly.

An extensive inner and perimeter trail system is established on the ranch.

Palo Pinto Lake Ranch has a variety of hardwood trees and browse.

A stone firepit is also positioned in this area. Wi-fi is also present.

All potable water on the ranch is supplied by Palo Pinto Water Supply. All rural water has been routed to a single location near the cabins and lodge; each has its own independent shutoff valve. Electric and septic are already in place.

An approximately 1,200 square foot metal building, complete with electricity, is in place for the storage of supplies and equipment. Inside the metal building is a walk-in freezer for your use.

A long-range shooting lane has been created using metal targets along the power lines as you drive into the ranch.

This ranch is a true testament to the art of luxurious living, offering an unparalleled experience that will leave you in awe.

Historical Marker:

Texas history is woven into almost every piece of land. Due to research and two inscribed metal plates, it is believed that in 1878, Sheriff Jim Owens killed two horse thieves on this ranch. Allen Ramsey wrote, These two outlaws' graves are located on the east shore of Palo Pinto Lake, approximately north, northwest of Randall Miller Power Plant.

From bits and pieces of the story that have been handed down, it seems these men had stolen some horses. When Sheriff Jim Owens surprised them somewhere on Lake Creek, a running battle took place. One of the outlaws fell mortally wounded. Later in the chase, the second outlaw fell and died. By that time, Sheriff Owens had only one shot left in his gun.

The second outlaw was buried at the spot where he fell. By that time, the other outlaw was dead and was brought and buried by the other one. A head marker was made for both graves by splitting a block of cedar. Years later, Andrew Martin of Lone Camp passed by the graves one day and noticed that one of the markers was almost rotted away. He visited the two sons of Sheriff Owens and got the dates of the killing. He carved two stones with the dates on them and replaced the wooden markers. When you see this ranch, ask Brandon to show you the historic site.

Minerals:

The Seller is not believed to own any portion of the Mineral Estate.
